Ocean conservation is important to us - even in the lab.

MGP tries to reduce our laboratory waste whenever possible while ensuring the integrity of our results. Some of the ways we accomplish this goal is by:

• We do this by using micro-scaling in our lab as a method to reduce the amount of reagents and supplies needed.

• Our team uses high quality used equipment to reduce the number of usable discarded lab equipment ending up in a landfill.

• Careful tracking of materials to avoid contamination and waste.

In Field

Having a portable lab allows us to conduct research anywhere in the world! This can also present unique challenges in adhering to responsible environmental practices.

MGP aims to reduce our carbon footprint during field work whenever possible by:

• Carpool to sites where we are conducting scientific research.

• Purchasing and maintaining long lasting diving equipment.

• Scheduling all meetings and errands on field work days or requesting remote options.

In Public

Our concern for the health of our oceans and sea life is reflected in our promotional products.

• MGP shirts are made of recycled cotton and or recycled plastics.

• We only chose vendors who’s core business practices match our ethical and environmental values.

• We use recycled or compostable packing materials for any items we ship.

• MGP only distributes digital materials. And uses digital business cards.

• We don’t give out promotional products that would end up in the trash.
